THE 2024 SPANISH GRAND PRIX MILESTONES
The 2024 Spanish Grand Prix will be the 1,111th World Championship event in Formula 1 history.
This will be the 61st time that Formula 1 has raced in Spain. It will be the 34th Grand Prix held at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
This will be the 64th Spanish Grand Prix since the event was first held in 1913 and the 54th time that the event has been run as a round of the World Championship.
The 2024 Spanish Grand Prix will be the seventh Formula 1 race to take place on June 23. It is the first to do so since the 2019 French Grand Prix. It’s the first time the Spanish Grand Prix will take place on this date.
Daniel Ricciardo will make his 200th Grand Prix start in car number 3 at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix. He becomes the fourth driver to make 200 appearances with a single car number.
THE FORMULA 1 RECORDS WHICH COULD BE BROKEN
A top three finish for Max Verstappen this weekend would mark his 106th podium finish in Formula 1. That would see him equal Alain Prost and Fernando Alonso for fourth on the all-time list of most podium finishes.
A podium finish at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix would be Max Verstappen’s eighth podium finish at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. That would see him equal his personal best for most podium finishes at a single track. He has taken eight previous top three finishes at the Red Bull Ring.
A Q1 elimination for Kevin Magnussen at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix would see him overtake Marcus Ericsson at the top of the list of most Q1 exits since the elimination qualifying format was introduced in 2006.
At the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen joined Fernando Alonso as only the second driver to have won races from nine different grid positions. Either driver could become the first to win from ten different grid positions, while Lewis Hamilton could equal the existing record.
If Max Verstappen leads every lap of the race, he will overtake Jim Clark for fourth in the list of most races led from start to end. It would be the 14th time he has done so in his career.

A points finish for Logan Sargeant would make the United States the 12th country to score 1,000 points in World Championship history.
If Charles Leclerc takes pole position and fails to win, it would be the 20th time that he has done so in his Formula 1 career. That would see him overtake Nelson Piquet for fifth in the list of most failed pole to win conversions.

THE SPANISH GRAND PRIX RECORDS TO BREAK
Lewis Hamilton currently shares the record for most Spanish Grand Prix wins with Michael Schumacher. Victory for Hamilton at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix would be a record-breaking seventh win at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
A win for Max Verstappen at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix would make him only the third driver – after Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton – to have won the Spanish Grand Prix four times.
Ferrari lead the way for most wins at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with eight. Mercedes could equal their record tally at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton is one top three finish away from equalling Michael Schumacher’s record for most Spanish Grand Prix podium finishes. A podium at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix would be Hamilton’s 12th at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Ferrari lead the way for most points scored at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with 413. Red Bull or Mercedes could take the top spot at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix. Red Bull would need to outscore Ferrari by 20 points to do so, while Mercedes would need to outscore Ferrari by 37 points (and Red Bull by 18).
Ferrari and Mercedes have powered the most Spanish Grand Prix wins in F1 history, each taking 12 wins. Either engine manufacturer could set a new record this week, or their existing record could be equalled by Renault.
Should Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz lead 42 laps of the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix between them, Ferrari would become the first team to have led 1,000 laps at the Spanish Grand Prix during its time on the Formula 1 calendar.

Carlos Sainz will be hoping to maintain his 100% points-scoring rate at his home event. He’s scored on all nine home appearances to date. Alain Prost, Michael Andretti and Ralph Firman are the only other drivers with a 100% points rate at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
2024 SPANISH GRAND PRIX: QUALIFYING RECORDS
Pole position for Lewis Hamilton at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix would be his seventh at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. That would see him equal Michael Schumacher for the most poles at the Spanish Grand Prix.

If a team other than Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull secure pole position for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix, it would be the first time that four different teams have taken pole in four consecutive years at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
British drivers have the most poles at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with nine. A pole for Nico Hulkenberg would see Germany equal the record, while British drivers can extend the existing record to ten at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix.
A front row start for Lewis Hamilton at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix would make him the first driver to record ten front row starts at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Both Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri will be hoping to maintain their 100% Q3 appearance records at the Spanish Grand Prix. Michael Schumacher is the only other driver with a 100% Q3 appearance record at the track.
Nico Hulkenberg is currently tied with Jenson Button for the most Q2 exits at the Spanish Grand Prix. Hulkenberg could set a new record in qualifying for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix, or Sergio Perez could equal the existing record.

LONGEVITY RECORDS FOR HAMILTON AND ALONSO
A victory for Lewis Hamilton at any race in 2024 would see him overtake Michael Schumacher as the driver to have won at least one race in the most Formula 1 seasons. Both Schumacher and Hamilton have won races in 15 different Formula 1 seasons.
A podium finish for Lewis Hamilton at any race in 2024 would make him the third oldest British driver to finish on the Formula 1 podium. He currently sits fourth in the list, behind Nigel Mansell, Graham Hill and Reg Parnell.
A win for Fernando Alonso at any Grand Prix in 2024 would make him the oldest driver to win a Grand Prix since Jack Brabham at the 1970 South African Grand Prix.
