Every Safety Car Deployment at the Las Vegas Grand Prix

There have been two Safety Car periods to date in Las Vegas. Here’s a list of every time that the Safety Car has been deployed to date at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Lap 3

The Safety Car made its first appearance in Las Vegas just two laps into the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix. Lando Norris crashed out at Turn 12 in a heavy impact with the barriers. The Safety Car was out for four laps, with racing resuming at the start of Lap 7.

2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Lap 26

The Safety Car made its second appearance of the evening on Lap 26 of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. On Lap 25, Max Verstappen and George Russell made contact at Turn 12 – the same corner at which Lando Norris had earlier crashed. The pair were able to continue, with Russell being handed a five-second penalty for the incident. Debris on the track as a result of the contact meant that the Safety Car had to be called out. The caution period lasted for three laps.
