Only half of the 2024 grid have made more than two appearances at the Chinese Grand Prix. Hamilton has the most wins here, while Alonso, Bottas, Ricciardo and Verstappen are the only other current drivers to have finished on the podium at the track. 🇳🇱 Max VERSTAPPEN
Max Verstappen has scored on four of his five appearances at the Chinese Grand Prix, with a best finish of third in the 2017 event. He has finished in the top five in all of the last three races at the circuit and has retired from the event once, in 2015.
Verstappen has qualified in fifth for each of the last two Shanghai races, and has three Q3 appearances in total at the circuit, having also qualified ninth in 2016. In the four races that he has finished at the track, Verstappen is yet to finish in a worse position than where he started from.

🇲🇽 Sergio PEREZ
From his nine appearances at the Chinese Grand Prix, Perez has scored three times, with a best result of eighth in the last race at the track. Perez has finished just outside of the points in 11th four times at the Shanghai International Circuit.
In 2019, Perez ended a three year streak of appearing in Q3 at Shanghai International Circuit. He has never failed to progress to Q2 here and has out-qualified his team-mate in every race at the track since 2015.

🇬🇧 Lewis HAMILTON
Lewis Hamilton has won the Chinese Grand Prix no less than six times so far in his career, and has taken three additional podium finishes. 2007, when his McLaren got beached in the gravel at the pit entry, is the only time that Hamilton has failed to score points at the circuit.
Hamilton has reached Q3 on all but one appearance at the Shanghai International Circuit. That appearance was in 2016, when he was left unable to set a lap time. Hamilton has taken pole position at the track six times, and has started from the front row on eight occasions.
Of the 12 races that he has finished at the circuit, 2013 is the only occasion that Hamilton has finished in a worse position than where he started from.

🇲🇨 Charles LECLERC
Charles Leclerc has made two previous appearances at the Chinese Grand Prix and scored at the event for the first time in 2019. Leclerc qualified in fourth place the 2019 Shanghai race and went on to finish fifth.
In the previous season, with Sauber, Leclerc qualified and finished in nineteenth place. The Sauber cars were largely uncompetitive over the weekend, with Leclerc out-qualifying team-mate Marcus Ericsson, who lined up last on the grid. He is yet to finish in a better position than where he started in Shanghai.

🇪🇸 Carlos SAINZ
Carlos Sainz ended a three-year points scoring streak at the Chinese Grand Prix with a fourteenth place finish in the 2019 race. Sainz has a 100% finishing record at the circuit, with a best finish of seventh, which he scored in 2017.
The Spaniard has reached Q3 on two occasions at the track, in 2016 and 2018, recording a best qualifying result of eighth with Toro Rosso in 2016. Sainz has finished where he started in each of the last two Chinese Grands Prix.

From his last four Chinese Grand Prix appearances, Fernando Alonso has scored only once. That was on his most recent appearance here in 2018, when he finished seventh. Alonso has previously won the Chinese Grand Prix twice, in 2005 and 2013, and has three further podium finishes at Shanghai International Circuit, the most recent of which was in 2014. 2017 marked his first, and so far only, retirement at the track.
Alonso took pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix in both of his title-winning years, but has not started from the front row here since 2009. He last reached Q3 at the circuit in 2014, and has been out in Q2 on all of his last three appearances. 2007 and 2015 are the only seasons in which Alonso has been out-qualified by a team-mate in China.

The Frenchman is yet to out-qualify a team-mate at this track. He’s also yet to reach Q3 at the circuit, with a best qualifying position of twelfth in 2018. He was eliminated in Q1 in 2017 and in Q2 in 2018.

Daniel Ricciardo took victory from sixth on the grid at the 2018 Chinese Grand Prix. He shares the record for the furthest back grid position from which a race at Shanghai International Circuit has been won with Michael Schumacher.
Ricciardo holds a 100% finish record at the Chinese Grand Prix, with his first appearance in 2012 being the only time he has failed to score. His 2018 win is his only podium finish in Shanghai, though he has finished in fourth place on three occasions.
Ricciardo has qualified on the front row for the Chinese Grand Prix twice, in 2014 and 2016, but is yet to take pole position at the venue. 2012 is the only time he has failed to reach Q3 here, while 2018 is the only time he has been out-qualified by a team-mate at the track.

Bottas took pole at the Chinese Grand Prix for the first time in 2019. It was the first time he has qualified on the front row at the track. 2013, when he was eliminated in Q1, is the only occasion that the Finn has failed to qualify in the top ten at the track. Bottas has out-qualified his team-mate in each of the last two races here.
Despite starting from pole, Bottas failed to lead a lap of the 2019 Chinese Grand Prix. 2018, when he led for 18 laps, is the only season where he has led at the circuit.

That year marks the only time the Dane has lost positions from where he has started at the track.
