In 2024, George Russell became the first Las Vegas Grand Prix polesitter to win at Las Vegas Strip Circuit, leading all but one lap on his way to victory. In 2023, Charles Leclerc failed to win from pole position. He ran third until the closing stages, when he overtook Sergio Perez for second place.

In 2023, Max Verstappen took victory from second on the grid at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Carlos Sainz continued the grid position’s 100% podium finish rate in 2024 but lost one position from where he started and finished third.

There’s yet to be a top seven finish from third on the grid at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. George Russell finished fourth on the road in the inaugural race at Las Vegas Strip Circuit but a five-second penalty for causing a collision dropped him to eighth in the final order. In 2024, Pierre Gasly put in an impressive performance to qualify third but retired in the early stages after suffering an engine failure.

With fourth place in the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc became the first driver to score points at the event having started fourth on the grid. In 2023, Pierre Gasly lost seven places over the course of the race and finished only 11th.

The driver starting fifth at the Las Vegas Grand Prix is yet to gain a position in the race. Max Verstappen became the first driver to score a point having started here in 2024, with a fifth place finish which secured him a fourth successive title victory. In 2024, Oscar Piastri became the first driver to score points from eighth on the grid at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. He finished seventh – six places higher than where Kevin Magnussen finished having started here in the previous season.

Ninth is one of only four grid slots to score points in both runnings of the Las Vegas Grand Prix so far. Fernando Alonso finished ninth from this position in 2023 and Nico Hulkenberg followed that up with an eighth place result in 2024.

Tenth is the furthest back position from which a top two finish has been recorded at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton gained eight places to finish as runner-up to his team-mate in 2024. With Hamilton also having finished seventh after starting here in 2023, tenth on the grid is one of only four positions – along with 1st, 2nd and 9th – to have scored points in both Las Vegas races to date.
