RACE BY RACE: LOGAN SARGEANT‘S 2023 F1 SEASON IN STATISTICS
2023 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX
Logan Sargeant became the first American to start a Formula 1 race since Alexander Rossi at the 2015 Brazilian Grand Prix. He became the first Williams driver to race in car number 2 since Heinz-Harald Frentzen at the 1998 Japanese Grand Prix.
Sargeant was eliminated in Q1 on debut. He missed out on Q1 by qualifying in 16th place, despite setting the same lap time as Lando Norris. Norris had set the lap time first, so he progressed to Q2 while the Williams driver was out in Q1.
Sargeant’s 16th place in qualifying marked the best qualifying result for an American driver in Formula 1 since Scott Speed qualified 15th at the 2007 British Grand Prix. With Sargeant finishing the race in 12th, the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix was the first race at Bahrain International Circuit at which both Williams drivers finished in the top 12 since 2016.
2023 SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX
Logan Sargeant failed to set a lap time in Q1 at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, seeing him start from the back of the grid. With both Sargeant and Alex Albon out in Q1, Williams became the team to have recorded the most Q1 exits at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The team has now amassed five Q1 eliminations at Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
2023 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
After maintaining his 100% Q1 exit rate on Saturday, Logan Sargeant recorded the first retirement of his Formula 1 career at the 2023 Australian Grand Prix. It wasn’t all bad for Sargeant, however. His 18th place in qualifying made this the first time since 2016 that neither Williams driver qualified on the back row of the grid at the Australian Grand Prix.
2023 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX
On Friday at the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Logan Sargeant made it out of Q1 for the first time in his Formula 1 career. It was s the first time since 2018 that both Williams drivers have reached Q2 in Azerbaijan.
2023 MIAMI GRAND PRIX
On his first home race appearance, Logan Sargeant was eliminated in Q1 at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix. Setting the slowest time of the 20 drivers, this was the second time that a Williams driver has qualified on the back row at the Miami Grand Prix. Nicholas Latifi qualified 19th last year. It was the second time that Sargeant has qualified last, having also set the slowest qualifying time at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

2023 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX
