After qualifying third, Valtteri Bottas’ hopes of back-to-back victories looked to be within grasp. He led the race at one point as Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton pitted, but the Finn was forced into retirement by an engine failure on Lap 38.

2. Who will lead the Constructors’ Championship after the Spanish Grand Prix?

Your Prediction: Ferrari

Correct Answer: Mercedes

Both the leading teams lost one car from the Grand Prix. Kimi Raikkonen retired on the first lap after his collision with Max Verstappen. Valtteri Bottas retired on Lap 38 as his engine gave up. It was down to Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel to score the teams’ points. With Lewis taking the win and Sebastian finishing second, Mercedes increased their advantage in the Constructors’ Championship from one point to eight.

McLaren are now the only team to have not scored a point in 2017.

Pascal Wehrlein surprised many on Saturday by being able to get his Sauber into the second qualifying session, despite the team’s lack of updates for this Grand Prix.

Correct Answer: Romain Grosjean

Kevin Magnussen was leading the Haas battle right up until the final laps when he developed a puncture after a collision with Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat. The collision ultimately cost Magnussen a points finish, but on the flip side all but handed Romain Grosjean tenth place and a point. Magnussen finished fourteenth.
