Your 2018 #BrazilGP Predictions: The Results

Before the 2018 Brazilian Grand Prix weekend began, I posted five prediction polls on the Lights Out twitter account. How many of the questions did you get right? Find out below!

1. Where will Hulkenberg finish?

YOUR PREDICTION: 7th or 8th

CORRECT ANSWER: DNF

Before this weekend, Nico Hulkenberg had never failed to score points on all of his Brazilian Grand Prix appearances. Sadly, his 2018 race at Interlagos ended in retirement on the 32nd lap.

2. Which Haas driver will qualify better?

YOUR PREDICTION: KEVIN MAGNUSSEN

CORRECT ANSWER: ROMAIN GROSJEAN

The Haas drivers have been one of the closest pairings on qualifying pace in 2018. This weekend, it was Romain Grosjean who ended up ahead on Saturday afternoon. The Frenchman reached Q3, qualifying in ninth, while Kevin Magnussen was eliminated in Q2.

3. How many Safety Car outings will there be?

YOUR PREDICTION: 1

CORRECT ANSWER: 0

Safety Cars are commonplace at the Brazilian Grand Prix, hence why only 16% of you thought we’d see a race pass without incident. While there was plenty of action and incident on track, there was no need to deploy the Safety Car, or even the Virtual Safety Car.

4. Which midfield team will score more points?

YOUR PREDICTION: RENAULT

CORRECT ANSWER: HAAS

Haas and Force India were the only teams from these four who managed to score in the Brazilian Grand Prix. While Sergio Perez picked up the final point for Force India, both Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen scored for Haas, finishing in eighth and ninth respectively. Sauber scored the same number of points as Haas this weekend.

5. Will Mercedes win the Constructors’ Championship?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

As Lewis Hamilton took victory, Mercedes scored enough points to confirm their status as 2018 Constructors’ Champions. That means they’ve won the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships in all of the last five seasons. Should they win the Constructors’ Championship again next season, they’ll equal Ferrari’s record of six consecutive titles.
