It may have been in controversial circumstances, but Mercedes remain unbeaten at the Russian Grand Prix. Their drivers have won at the Sochi Autodrom in every year since the race was first held in 2014.

Valtteri Bottas took pole on Saturday, but always seemed destined to finish behind his team-mate in Sunday’s Grand Prix. After receiving the order via team radio, Bottas let Hamilton by to help him extend his championship lead by an extra seven points. Bottas eventually held on to second place.

Max Verstappen was voted Driver of the Day after an overtaking show in the early stages of the race. Having started nineteenth on the grid, Verstappen overtook fourteen drivers to make it up to fifth before the leaders pitted, leaving the Dutchman to lead for the majority of the race. After pitting for Ultrasoft tyres, he was unable to catch Raikkonen for fourth and finished a nevertheless impressive fifth. Daniel Ricciardo had a quieter race, but still finished just one position behind his team-mate in sixth.

Seregy Sirotkin out-qualified his team-mate at his first Russian Grand Prix appearance and started from thirteenth after multiple grid penalties for other drivers. There wasn’t pace in the Williams to stay there though, and he fell to eighteenth and last of the cars still running at the end of the race.

As 35% of you predicted, Lewis Hamilton leads the way by fifty points after his win in the Russian Grand Prix. He could retire from the next two races, with Sebastian Vettel taking victory, and would still be ahead in the title battle.
