Ferrari won the last Formula 1 race at Imola in 2006 and, until 2020, had not failed to finish on the podium at the circuit since 1993. Charles Leclerc was Ferrari’s only points scorer at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. He finished in the top five in fifth place, as almost 40% of you predicted.

There was a single Safety Car period at the 2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix following Max Verstappen’s retirement from the race. Prior to this weekend, there had been only two previous Safety Car outings at the Imola circuit.

The drivers out in Q1 were made up of only Williams, Haas and Alfa Romeo drivers. George Russell was the only driver from these three teams to reach Q2, qualifying his Williams car in thirteenth place. Thirteenth equalled his second-best ever starting position.

Alex Albon failed to score for a third consecutive race. He finished the race last of the classified runners, in fifteenth place following a spin at the Safety Car restart.

Four different teams qualified in the top six at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. While Mercedes locked-out the front row for the tenth time in the last eleven races, Max Verstappen and Alex Albon qualified third and sixth for Red Bull. Also in the top six were two ex-Red Bull drivers. Pierre Gasly qualified fourth for AlphaTauri and Daniel Ricciardo was fifth for Renault.
