Your 2022 Azerbaijan GP predictions: the results

Did you predict a red flag in qualifying? Or a double DNF for Ferrari? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. HOW MANY RED FLAGS WILL THERE BE IN QUALIFYING?

YOUR PREDICTION: 1

CORRECT ANSWER: 1

Last year there were four red flag periods during qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Stoppages have become a common theme of qualifying in 2022. Lance Stroll caused the only red flag in qualifying at the 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, crashing out in Q1.

2. WHICH TEAM WILL WIN?

YOUR PREDICTION: RED BULL

CORRECT ANSWER: RED BULL

Over 50% backed Red Bull to take a second consecutive win at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Max Verstappen duly delivered, taking his fifth victory of the season. Ferrari suffered their first double DNF in almost two years, with both Carlos Sainz and polesitter Charles Leclerc retiring early on in the race with mechanical troubles.

3. HOW MANY LAPS WILL THE WINNER LEAD?

YOUR PREDICTION: 11-30 LAPS

CORRECT ANSWER: 31-50 LAPS

Max Verstappen led 36 laps en route to victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix – the most laps a winner at this circuit has led since Nico Rosberg in 2016. Verstappen set a new record for most laps led at the circuit.

4. WILL BOTH McLAREN DRIVERS SCORE?

YOUR PREDICTION: NO

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

Only 30% of you expected McLaren to score with both cars at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Daniel Ricciardo finished eighth, with Lando Norris ninth. This was only the second race of the season at which both McLaren drivers finished in the top ten.

5. WHERE WILL THE FURTHEST BACK PODIUM FINISH COME FROM?

YOUR PREDICTION: 5th or 6th

CORRECT ANSWER: 5th or 6th

The furthest back podium finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2022 came from fifth on the grid, which is where George Russell started. This was only the second race at the circuit, after 2019, in which all the podium finishers started inside the top five on the grid.
