— Lights Out ●●●●● (@LightsOutF1Blog) March 17, 2022
YOUR PREDICTION: FERRARI
CORRECT ANSWER: FERRARI
Red Bull set the fastest time in testing, while Ferrari looked strong throughout the pre-season running. The two teams proved to be the class of the field in qualifying, with Charles Leclerc taking pole position ahead of Max Verstappen by only 0.123 seconds. In the race, the pair duelled for victory, but it was eventually Leclerc who won, with Verstappen retiring late in the race and Carlos Sainz securing the Scuderia’s first 1-2 result in over two years.

YOUR PREDICTION: 13th, 14th, 15th or 16th
CORRECT ANSWER: 17th OR LOWER
Nico Hulkenberg was drafted in to Aston Martin to replace Sebastian Vettel, who had tested positive for coronavirus. While Hulkenberg out-qualified team-mate Lance Stroll, he was unable to finish ahead in the race. While Stroll finished twelfth, Hulkenberg came home in seventeenth.
3. WHAT WILL HAAS’ BEST RESULT BE?
3. Where will the best-placed Haas driver finish in the 2022 #BahrainGP?#LightsOutF1Predictions #F1
— Lights Out ●●●●● (@LightsOutF1Blog) March 17, 2022
YOUR PREDICTION: IN THE POINTS
CORRECT ANSWER: IN THE POINTS
We expected Haas to improve from their dismal 2021 pace – but did we expect them to be quite this good? On his return to Formula 1, Kevin Magnussen exceeded all expectations by qualifying seventh. Following Red Bull’s double retirement, the Dane moved up to fifth place at the end of the race. It was Haas’ first top five result in almost four years. Mick Schumacher was unlucky to miss out on points, finishing in eleventh place.
4. WHO’LL SCORE MORE POINTS – ALPHATAURI OR ALPINE?
4. Which team will score more points at the #BahrainGP: AlphaTauri or Alpine?#LightsOutF1Predictions #F1
— Lights Out ●●●●● (@LightsOutF1Blog) March 17, 2022
YOUR PREDICTION: ALPHATAURI
CORRECT ANSWER: ALPINE
The two teams who battled for fifth in last year’s Constructors’ Championship both scored points at the 2022 season-opener. Pierre Gasly was running well into the points until his car set on fire near the end of the race and he was forced into retirement. Nevertheless, Yuki Tsunoda was still able to score points for AlphaTauri, coming home in eighth place. However, it was Alpine who scored more points. Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso scored eight points between them, with seventh place for the Frenchman and ninth for the Spaniard.
5. HOW MANY DRIVERS WILL FINISH THE RACE?
5. How many drivers will finish the #BahrainGP?#LightsOutF1Predictions #F1
— Lights Out ●●●●● (@LightsOutF1Blog) March 17, 2022
YOUR PREDICTION: 16 or 17
CORRECT ANSWER: 16 or 17
There were no retirements from the Bahrain Grand Prix until Lap 46 – a new record for the furthest into a season without a retirement. Pierre Gasly was first to retire and he was joined on the sidelines by both Red Bull drivers. 17 drivers crossed the finish line.
