Max Verstappen won from pole position for Red Bull in a closely-fought battle with Carlos Sainz. Sainz crossed the line less than a second behind the Red Bull driver. Their team-mates both started further back. Sergio Perez retired with mechanical issues, while Charles Leclerc won the Driver of the Day vote after driving from 19th to fifth.
