Your 2022 Saudi Arabian GP Predictions: The Results

Did you predict a Red Bull victory? Or that a McLaren would finish in the points? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WHICH TEAM WILL WIN THE RACE?

YOUR PREDICTION: FERRARI

CORRECT ANSWER: RED BULL

For the second week running, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen were embroiled in a battle for victory. This time around, Verstappen came out on top, taking his first victory as reigning World Champion.

2. WILL HAAS SCORE POINTS?

YOUR PREDICTION: MAGNUSSEN WILL, SCHUMACHER WON’T

CORRECT ANSWER: MAGNUSSEN WILL, SCHUMACHER WON’T

Mick Schumacher was ruled out of competing in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix following a heavy crash in Q2. Kevin Magnussen started from inside the top ten for a second race weekend in succession and went on to score points once again with a ninth place finish.

3. WILL ANY RED BULL, FERRARI OR MERCEDES CARS RETIRE?

YOUR PREDICTION: 1 WILL

CORRECT ANSWER: NONE WILL

There was a high attrition rate in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with only 13 cars reaching the chequered flag. But none of the drivers who retired drove for Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton recorded the worst result of the six cars, with tenth place.

4. WHAT WILL McLAREN’S BEST RESULT BE?

YOUR PREDICTION: 11th-15th

CORRECT ANSWER: 7th-10th

Just over 30% of you thought McLaren would finish in the points this weekend. While Daniel Ricciardo was one of the seven retirements, Lando Norris recorded the team’s first points of the season with seven points.

5. HOW MANY RED FLAGS WILL THERE BE?

YOUR PREDICTION: ONE

CORRECT ANSWER: NONE

There were no red flag periods during this year’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. There were, however, two Safety Car periods and the race ended under yellow flags following a collision between Alex Albon and Lance Stroll.
