Before the start of the second week of Winter Testing, I posted five prediction polls on the Lights Out twitter account. How many of the questions did you get right? Find out below!
1. Will Toro Rosso do the most laps in Winter Testing?
1. By the end of the second week of testing, will Toro Rosso still be the team who've completed the most laps? #LightsOutPredictions #F1
— Lights Out ●●●●● (@LightsOutF1Blog) March 5, 2018
YOUR PREDICTION: NO
CORRECT ANSWER: NO
At the end of week one, it was Toro Rosso who had completed the most laps of any team. As 71% of you correctly predicted, they were overtaken in total mileage by the end of the second week. Mercedes did the most laps and were the only team to reach over 1,000 total laps from the eight days of testing. Ferrari were around 100 laps behind that, while Toro Rosso completed the third most laps of any team, with 835 tours of the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya.
2. How far will the lap time fall?
2. Will we see a lap quicker than 1:18.500 this week? (Last week's quickest was a 1:19.333 on Mediums) #LightsOutPredictions #F1

YOUR PREDICTION: YES
CORRECT ANSWER: YES
Not only did we see a lap below 1:18.500 – we saw laps below 1:17.500, too. The fastest lap of the year so far came from Sebastian Vettel on Thursday, as he set a 1:17.182 on the Hypersoft tyre – a new track record for the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
3. Which team will do the least laps?
3. Which team will have completed the fewest overall laps by the end of testing? #LightsOutPredictions #F1

YOUR PREDICTION: HAAS
CORRECT ANSWER: McLAREN
After completing the least laps of anyone over the first week of testing, Force India improved their mileage to complete the eighth most miles. Haas, who 38% of you thought would do the least laps, slipped to ninth in the mileage standings but it was McLaren who completed the least laps of all the teams. The Woking based team had plenty of problems which cost them time on the track during the second week, leaving them bottom of the pile having completed almost 100 laps less than Haas.
4. How many Red Flags will there be?
4. Over the final four days of #F1Testing, how many Red Flags will there be? #LightsOutPredictions #F1
— Lights Out ●●●●● (@LightsOutF1Blog) March 5, 2018
YOUR PREDICTION: 4, 5 or 6
CORRECT ANSWER: 7 or more
The marshals were certainly busy with their flag waving in the second week of testing. In total there were eleven Red Flags over the last four days of testing – with McLaren causing the most.
5. Who will be fastest?
5. Which driver will set the fastest lap time of the week? #LightsOutPredictions #F1

YOUR PREDICTION: Lewis Hamilton
CORRECT ANSWER: Sebastian Vettel
45% of you thought Mercedes would show their hand with the quickest time of the week from Lewis Hamilton, but it was Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel who clocked in the fastest time. As we all know though, lap times mean very little at this stage. Mercedes opted not to run on the Hypersoft tyres, so there is no way of knowing what their ultimate pace is.
