Tsunoda became the first driver to score in Bahrain from sixteenth on the grid since the inaugural race at the track in 2004. Fernando Alonso finished sixth having started sixteenth in the 2004 Bahrain Grand Prix.
2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
After failing to set a lap time in qualifying, Yuki Tsunoda stopped on his way to grid. With both Tsunoda and Mick Schumacher failing to start the race, this was the first time an F1 race had only 18 starters since the 2015 Australian Grand Prix.
2022 Australian Grand Prix
With neither Yuki Tsunoda or team-mate Pierre Gasly in Q3, neither AlphaTauri driver qualified in the top ten for the first time since the 2021 Russian Grand Prix, nine races ago. It was the team’s longest-ever Q3 streak.
2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
Yuki Tsunoda out-qualified team-mate Pierre Gasly for only the second time in his career. He went on to finish seventh, equalling the third-best result of his career to date.
2022 Miami Grand Prix

2022 Spanish Grand Prix
Yuki Tsunoda’s tenth place finish made 2022 the fourth consecutive season in which the Red Bull junior team has scored at the Spanish Grand Prix.
2022 Monaco Grand Prix
With Yuki Tsunoda out in Q2 and Pierre Gasly eliminated in Q1, this was the first time that neither of the Red Bull junior team’s cars reached Q3 at the Monaco Grand Prix since 2012. Meanwhile, with both drivers finishing outside of the points, this was the first time that the Red Bull junior team has failed to score at the Monaco Grand Prix since 2012.
2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Yuki Tsunoda recorded his best qualifying result of the year to date with eighth place. He was running in the top ten when a broken rear wing necessitated a trip to the pits. 2022 Canadian Grand Prix
With an engine penalty, Yuki Tsunoda recorded his fourth Q1 exit of 2022 and qualified last for the second time this year. Tsunoda retired from the race after crashing out at Turn 1 following a pit stop. He made this the fourth consecutive Canadian Grand Prix from which a driver for the Red Bull junior team has retired. This was the second time Tsunoda has failed to reach the chequered flag in 2022, following his non-start at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
2022 British Grand Prix

2022 Hungarian Grand Prix
Both Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly were out in Q1, recording the Red Bull junior team’s first double Q1 exit at the Hungarian Grand Prix since 2006.
